3.81.12 RC4 Is Available with Batch Execution Point
We’re excited to announce the release of MES 3.81.12 RC4, bringing major updates to Batch Execution and Recipe Management within the Batch Procedure module. This release delivers improved control, editor usability, and record accuracy, helping operators, recipe authors, and quality teams manage complex batch processes with greater precision and confidence.
Enhanced Control in Batch Execution
In regulated manufacturing environments, process control is everything. RC4 introduces several new features that give operators and automated systems more responsive control during live batch runs without sacrificing compliance or data integrity.
Batch Execution Points: Define specific markers in your recipe where operators or logic can pause, hold, resume, or jump to another step. These points provide an auditable and structured way to handle interventions or checks mid-process.
Change Active Step: Operators can now redirect process flow in real time when handling exceptions, improving flexibility during execution.
Improved Exception Handling: New scripting tools make it easier to resolve batches that become unresponsive, preventing downtime and ensuring accurate completion.
Smarter Resume Logic: Recipes now resume exactly where they left off after a pause or hold, maintaining accuracy and continuity.
Together, these improvements make live batch management more adaptable to real-world process variations.
Greater Flexibility in Recipe Design
Recipe authors can now define more sophisticated and reliable logic using expanded mode propagation and scripting options.
Mode Propagation Controls: New settings allow state changes at the parent level to automatically cascade to child steps, or for a lower-level fault to stop the parent process when needed. This keeps complex operations synchronized and safe.
Enterprise Recipe Settings: Default propagation behavior can now be defined system-wide for consistency across all recipes.
Enhanced Template Creation: Scripting updates make it easier to generate new recipe components dynamically, improving efficiency for large or repetitive projects.
Improved Batch Recipe Editor Usability
A smoother, more intuitive recipe authoring experience helps reduce configuration errors and speeds up validation.
Auto-Placement and Linking: Steps added to a recipe now connect automatically in logical order, streamlining the design process.
Orphaned Step Detection: The editor now flags steps that are not properly connected, helping authors catch issues early.
Smarter Validation: Improved messages make it easier to identify and fix configuration or parameter errors quickly.
Simplified Error Review: Validation results are now grouped and scrollable, making long lists easier to review.
Clearer, More Accurate Electronic Batch Records (EBR)
A precise and auditable batch record is vital for compliance and analysis. RC4 enhances EBR clarity and operator insight.
Status Indicators: Color-coded step statuses provide instant visual feedback within the EBR Viewer.
Skipped Step Differentiation: Skipped steps are now clearly marked to improve traceability.
Accurate Parameter Logging: Updated logic ensures every recorded parameter matches what was executed in production.
Record Structure Improvements: Recipe and batch names are now clearly separated, and user messages display correctly across all phases.
Key Fixes and Platform Stability
This release also includes several stability and performance improvements to strengthen reliability across the Batch Procedure module.
Resolved rare state acknowledgement issues that could delay a process.
Fixed parameter-saving issues within templates and improved safeguards for configuration consistency.
Addressed a startup condition affecting recipe note collection on some gateways.
